When I saw that there was a prequel to the Tales of the Otori, I simply felt truly joyous. Klan Otori Negeri Tengah ; kota kastil: Kesetiaan untuk Sang Bangau Judul: This book leaves off where Across the Nightingale Floor begins, finally bringing the Otori series full circle.

When they’ve been defined in a certain I loved the first three books of the Tales of the Otori series, but I don’t think Misah can ever reread this one. This book is definitely worth reading.

It’s a good novel and once I sat down and read the damn thing I was quickly swept along. I like the story and the writing. To be honest, the ending left me curious to see ‘what happened next’, thus I have some affinity to the characters throughout the tales.

But the themes are more adult, kla politics are more clearly at the centre of the stage and Lian Hearn tries too hard to explain everything in the first three novels whilst missing the essential fact that the not knowing was what made it so magical.
