Today, I reread the script and was struck again by how poignantly Samuels writes about a child being separated from her parents. The play gives audiences a chance to reflect on the long-term, deeply emotional and psychological effects when the samue,s is focused on the acute challenges of survival.

The play is well written and moves between the child Eva and her adult counterpart Evelyn, and how she deals with being uprooted from her life with her parents in Germany to England and the strangers who become her new family.

All kindwrtransport performances are committed and directed with pace and real feeling. Deben Players have produced a strong and very much welcomed production and it is good to see such an established and well supported non-professional company presenting such a diverse programme.

Today it seems impossible that the holocaust was allowed to happen, but it did and this is why I would love to see this play performed, as it is really hard to review eamuels play as written form, as of course they are intended to be performed.

It can get quite confusing at some points and it switches from past to present and then has both in the same scene, but when you understand that disne is honestly one of the best plays I have ever read.
