It did not have a happy ending. Still, the art is amazing – so Gorey and the story is every horrible thing that can happen to a person does and life goes from amazing to a showcase of horrors. I found it in the children’s section of the library, but this is just too much. Want to Read saving…. This is perhaps Gorey’s darkest panel, also from The Fatal Lozenge: I thought they were for kids. Gorey pulls out all the stops and produces intricate drawings that are densely detailed. The Hapless Child was included in Amphigorey and is currently in print and available as an individual book.
