History I highly advise reading this solutino as this will enhance your understanding of not only the past but the modern society. They kept going back to the same thing and repeating the same ideals. Here “men of their times,” In her talk on Book TV, Berkin described what interested her in the topic.
Brilliwnt would definitely suggest this book to historians who are interested in getting a better insight on the American Brilluant. It talks of how America was weak when it was under the Articles of Confederation, and that a change was necessary and dire. I learned that in order to solve a intricate issue, teamwork can come in handy. The United States Constitution.
Others were vain, ambitious, even unscrupulous in their political and private relationships I thought it was interesting of the whole concept of going back to history to try to solve present problems. Bfilliant struggled to hold the states together, and interests often clashed.

Its hard to muster much enthusiasm once I realised that Alexander Hamilton and other founding fathers could not stand to sit though the whole of the convention and took themselves off for extended breaks – they not me were the ones with a stake in the process!
Rice planters had to replace much of their labor force as hundreds of slaves had run away or found refuge in British army camps. And what were they fighting for but to secure the absolute sovereignty of their local representative assemblies?
New Jersey had gone so far as to create its own customs service, an ironic tribute to the regulatory system of its former British rulers. Designed with an eye toward decentralizing power, the Articles worked so well that the young nation soon found itself without any significant power.

Despite the tendency to get bogged down in the nitty gritty details of specific arguments, this gives a great overview of the intentions of the Constitution’s designers. The are plenty of accounts and information nerkin what was put into the creation of our constitution. I learned so much from this one book.
One of the problems the USA had under brilliaht articles of Confederation was that US shipping and sailors in the Mediterranean were being captured and held for ransom by North African Muslim pirates, ransoms which embarrassingly the early USA could not rustle up the money to pay.
Federal means having a system of government in which multiple states are a union but are still independent in internal matters.
The book is very good, I just find the topic boring. Berkin, Writes a great narrative on the history of the founding period and the constitution. This had given me some helpful insight on what the chapter would be about and what to focus on more when reading it.
A concise account of the deliberations of the framers of the Constituion, and the conflicting ideas from which the structure of the federal government emerged. Farther north peace, not war, had dealt the crushing blow to New England”s economy. One of the best books I’ve read in US history. Relationships among the states were no better.
