So it was interesting to read those letters. Great author, not a great book It was pretty good, but I wouldn’t call it a book.

She must’ve been a really understanding person to still have faith in her brother after everything he admits to, which makes her am admirable character even though we never see her directly.

It’s hard rating this and writing a review, I would have preferred if we found out more about Gabriel throughout the book instead of these letters, but I did nonetheless find his story quite interesting and it was nice building a connection, which I didn’t have a chance to do, as his story in the Lost Saint is a bit vague!

This adds to the backstory some. Giving you a better insight of this struggles with being infected. Gabriel, the ancient Urbat, has his influence as well.

These letters gave a behind-the-scenes look at Brother Gabriel, a historical character in the story, and his struggle at becoming an Urbat.

Copyright Undeniably Book Nerdy. I really enjoyed this one, and felt myself relating a lot to these characters. I probably would have liked them better if I’d read them shortly after I dewpain the books so the story was fresh in my mind.

As supplemental material to the Dark Divine, these letters give insight into a character who was pivotal to the story without taking attention away from the letyers on the main antagonists in The Lost Saint. They were short, but they gave a lot of good background that helped to flesh out Gabriel. So much emotion in this one. This compilation of letters was a good companion piece to the books in the world of The Dark Divine. This changes on a lowt to day basis.

Most of the characters of the first book return for this one, some in diminished roles and some enhanced. It’s very stylized as letters, and that’s cool, although I’m not entirely sure the whole “Old English” thing carries through consistently and that probably would bug some people.

But regular life kicked in, and she soon found herself married with a new baby, working full-time, and with very little writing done. After the End After the End 1 by I think this looks a lot better than The Savage Grace! After reading these letter I felt I understood Gabriel more.

The things mentioned about Grace in one of the letters sparked again my curiosity about the wolf cure. Some of you might be familiar with the Dark Divine trilogy: Each letter from Brother Gabriel to his sister was released as a blog post on Bree Despain’s blog in Januarythen later compiled into an ebook After the release of the second book in the Dark Divine series came this li’l promo.

Not worth having made letters into a book along could have added to one of the regular books. Originally angels blessed with power to fight evil, they succumbed to that power and became cursed. Even though this was only twenty pages, they were all sapped with enough emotion to fill a novel.

Although the first letter feels rough compared to the others, Despain finds her voice quickly.

Gabriel is writing to his dear sister, Katherine in all of the letters, even after she is killed by his wolf side. Nov 12, Teri rated it liked it. The Dark Divine is Bree’s debut novel. I hope this is one of the main plot points to the next book because it has been one of the lingering anomalies since the last book.

How he chooses to assuage his guilt over the years through these letters is heartbreaking.
