Asterix and the Picts

In fact this edition has not only been translated into English but Scots and although I read the English edition I am still eager to read the Scots version as even having a flick through it in the bookshop gave me a few giggles. As such I did enter pices discussion of his series should be continued and how does one keep the same quality??

I love all their books.

Also of Uderzo’s brilliant visual capture of Goscinny’s grand vision. Pictrs un po’ del mordente a cui ci aveva abituato la vecchia gestione, ma le gag sono godibili e la storia scorre piacevolmente. It is certainly not a better book as chz from the original writer and artist but it also does not fail in entertaining.

Merci Messieurs Ferri et Conrad. A really good first effort by the new team – I’m now looking forward happily to more from them.

I will have to find something on that matter! Asterix and the Picts is the first non-Uderzo Asterix book. I have been an avid fan of the Asterix books since I was in the asteriz digits and I first discovered this wonderful world of Ancient Gaul in my library. A few mentions of a Salmon, an obvious nod to the former SNP leader Salmond, crop up on occasion also.

This is the first Asterix album not featuring the work of Goscinny or Underzo and I therefore approached it with trepidation; would it be any good? The Pirates make their obligatory appearance and surprisingly still managed to make me laugh: The returning heroes As a child I used to love going to the library aterix reading all the Asterix books they had, he was my favourite better than Tintin and with his friend Obelix they were my heroes as ebolk always beat up the invading Romans. Would I recommend this?

I’d just like to take this opportunity to point out that this currently has a lower rating than Asterix and Son and Asterix and the Actress. Short answer; yes to both.

Asterix and the Picts (Asterix, #35) by Jean-Yves Ferri

Return to Book Page. No, por eso mismo que acabo de comentar.

While I appreciate As with probably most here, I am a huge cbez of Goscinny’s genial tongue-in-cheek narrative of Gauls, Romans, and humans in general.

We picked up this when we were in toberory, mulling a quiet day away, as a souvenir of our time in Scotland. A bit like seeing a very good friend for the first time in years. Some seem to like it, some don’t. For us of an older generation it is a return to form and we should be encouraging people to read this once again. The story, is astreix, but engaging nonetheless. This time, Asterix and Obelix are off to Scotland to fight the Roma The returning heroes As a child I used to love going to the library and reading all the Asterix books they had, he was my favourite better than Tintin and with his friend Obelix they were my heroes as they always beat up the invading Romans.

Totalmente de acuerdo con lo que todos han dicho: Jul 05, Gavin rated it liked it Shelves: If the infamous Gaulish pair could travel to everywhere else in the region, it was inevitable that they would have visited the Picts as well. That said, in my opinion, up until ” When a Pict is washed up outside their village all the women fall in love with him and the men folk cannot wait to send him back.

Refresh and try again. Go ye and do likewise! So why only a lukewarm reaction to it? I’m still not sure if it’s a good idea to continue a classic comic without its fathers, but I’m looking forward to new adventures – with hope and some concern.
